How do cloth nappies actually work?

Each nappy is a waterproof shell with absorbent inserts that snap or lay inside. Baby wees, the inserts soak it up, you pop the used one in a wet bag and wash every second day. No pins, no folding origami. Just snap, wear, wash, repeat.

How many cloth nappies do I need for full-time use?

Around 20 to 24 nappies covers you for full-time, washing every two days. That gives you a buffer for drying time and the odd blowout. Start with a smaller stash if you’re easing in and build from there.

Will cloth nappies save me money?

Yes, and it’s not close. Disposables run you $2,000-$3,000+ per child over the years. A full cloth stash is a few hundred dollars up front, reuses across siblings, and holds resale value. The maths does the convincing.

Are cloth nappies hard to wash?

Nope. A quick rinse or pre-wash, then a warm main wash with a full dose of detergent. Line dry or tumble on low. Once it’s in your routine it’s two loads a week. Less thinking than remembering to buy more disposables.

What’s the difference between all your nappy styles?

One-size nappies (Pixie) grow from newborn to toddler on adjustable snaps. Newborn nappies fit tiny legs snugly from day one. Night nappies pack extra absorbency for 12-hour sleeps, and pull-ups (Gremlin) suit potty learners. Not sure? Start with a one-size and go from there.

Do cloth nappies leak?

Not when they fit right. Most leaks come down to fit or an insert that needs a boost, not the nappy. Get the legs snug with no gaps, add a booster for heavy wetters, and you’re dry. We’ll help you troubleshoot if one’s playing up.
