Newborn Nappy Covers (Fairy)

Why use a newborn-size cover instead of one-size?

A one-size cover can gap on tiny newborn legs, which is where leaks sneak out. Newborn covers hug those little thighs snugly, so you stay leak-free through the constant early changes.

How long will newborn covers fit?

Roughly birth to 5-6kg, so the first couple of months for most babies. A short but very useful stage, and they store or resell well for the next bub.

Do newborn covers sit under the cord stump?

Yes. They’re cut low at the front so nothing rubs the healing cord stump. Snug legs, clear belly.

What do I put inside a newborn cover?

Newborn inserts, preflats or flats. Whatever absorbency you’re using. Lay it in, snap snug at the legs, and reuse the cover across changes if it stays clean.

How many newborn covers do I need?

Around 6-8 if you’re doing cloth full-time from birth, since you reuse each one across a few changes. Fewer if you’re mixing with disposables early on.

Can I reuse a newborn cover between changes?

Yes. Wipe it out if it’s only wee and pop in a fresh insert. Swap for a clean one when it’s soiled. That’s what keeps your cover count low.
