Simple, fast-drying

Preflat Nappies Made Easy

Preflat nappies give you the breathability and quick drying of natural fibres with none of the folding headaches. Lay it in a cover or secure with a Snappi. No pins, no origami. A brilliant, budget-friendly way to build absorbency, especially for newborns.

What is a preflat nappy?

A preflat is a flat nappy that’s pre-shaped, so it folds in thirds with no complicated folding. Lay it inside a cover or fasten with a Snappi. It’s the simplest, most breathable style of cloth going.

Why choose preflats over pocket nappies?

They dry fast (no thick sewn-in layers), they’re gentle on the budget, and the whole thing washes clean easily. Great for newborns, heavy wetters as a booster, and anyone who wants natural fibres against baby’s skin.

Do I need a cover with a preflat?

Yes. Preflats aren’t waterproof on their own. Pop a PUL cover over the top and you’re leak-proof. One cover can be reused across a few changes if it stays clean.

How do I secure a preflat?

Fold it in thirds and lay it in a cover, or fold it around baby and fasten with a Snappi. No pins required. Most people find laying it in a cover the fastest option.

Are preflats good for newborns?

Excellent for newborns. They’re trim, breathable and easy to get a snug fit on tiny legs. They also dry quickly, which matters when you’re washing constantly in those early weeks.

How many preflats do I need?

Around 20-24 for full-time, plus a handful of covers. Because they’re affordable and dry fast, they’re one of the cheapest ways to build a full stash.
