How to prep my cloth nappies for first use?

How to prep my cloth nappies for first use?

Natural fibres can take more than 10 washes to reach the maximum absorbency... so does that mean I have to wash my nappies 10 times before using them?

No, it doesn't and let me explain why:

1. You will have reached 10 washes before you know it.

2. The inserts which come with our Cloth Bums range are super absorbent and should last that 2-3 hour change time without any additional prep work.

3.  One initial wash with detergent is all you need to remove any manufacturing residue and to start using your new nappies.

4. Soaking inserts won't actually increase the absorbency of your inserts, the agitation from your washing machine is what will wear in the natural fibres and increase absorbency.

If you are using night nappies for the first time and you are anxious about leaks, throw your new night nappies through a few cycles with your other nappies or washing and they will be that their maximum capacity in no time.
